August Begins

As summer ripens, all creatures great and small are busy, busy, busy. Every Friday morning in Northport is the farmers’ market. This Saturday—today!—is the pig roast in Haserot Park, and next Saturday is (take a deep breath!) the food and wine festival, the Salmon Slam, the dog parade and a gallery walk. In between will be the usual work and play. Details will follow later in the week, as and if time permits.

How about you? Would you rather be reading or ironing? Which is more easily done in a hammock? And will I find time to do either?

Ironing???
And here I'd just gotten over the shock of the porch vacuuming thing.

August is beginning with more rain over here. Hope there's nice weather for the dog parade, because I have a fantasy of getting over there for that.

September. I'll laze in a hammock in September.

Gerry, you make me laugh! I know, I know. Well, the ironing only happens once or twice a year, and more often than vacuuming I sweep up the dead flies, etc. with a broom.

This morning felt like September to me. It felt like Grand Marais. It felt like vacation. But no, that's still weeks in the future. Maybe ten minutes in the hammock this evening?
