It’s Monday of the biggest
holiday week of the year, with Wednesday both Christmas Eve and the last day of
Hanukkah, so today is my day of last-minute items on the to-do list,
including a cookie-baking session at a friend’s house.
Then, here’s my plan for the
next couple of days:
Tuesday, December 23,
author John Mitchell will be at Dog Ears Books from noon to 2 p.m.
to sign copies of his prize-winning bestseller, Grand Traverse: The Civil
War Era. John’s work in progress is a
book on Cuba, so I’m eager to hear how he’s taking recent developments in
American-Cuban relations. And if all goes as planned today, I’ll have cookies
at the bookstore tomorrow. Stop in if you get the chance.
We’ll also be open Wednesday
until at least 3 p.m., but later than that I am not promising! I will have, as
long as it lasts, a bit of wrapping paper for last-minute shoppers on
Wednesday.
Thursday – CLOSED!!! Happy
Hanukkah!!! Merry Christmas!!! We wish you joy and peace and love (and, always, lots of books).

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah, Pamela. I so enjoy your blog posts as they share excellent insights into the independent bookselling business and also into what's going on in Northport.
Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to you and your family! We hope you had a lovely day of rest and fun!
