Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City will be the scene, Michigan Writers the cosponsors, of a day-long conference in fiction, screenwriting, poetry and journalism to be held on Friday, November 20, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Oleson Center. The conference is entitled “Courting the Muse,” and the cost is $95 per participant.
The opening session by writer Benjamin Percy, instructor at Iowa State University, will address the topic “The Single-Minded Writer.” Participants will be able to choose one of three morning sessions and one of three afternoon sessions before the general session and closing session of the day. Morning leaders will Benjamin Perry, Anne Stanton and Lesley Tye, while the afternoon sessions will be led by Elizabeth Buzzelli, Fleda Brown and Robert Downes. Presenters in the last two sessions of the day will include Buzzelli, Link and Brown, along with Aaron Stander and Anne-Marie Oomen.
For further information or to register for the conference, call (231) 995-1700 or (800) 995-1708 or visit NMC Extended Education Services.
Fun question (I don't have the answer): how many of the presenters listed above have not visited Northport?
