There’s
no telling in advance what the weather will be on any given Michigan day, and
August, known for its “Dog Days,” can serve up some steamy afternoons, so it
was decided to schedule the dog parade for 11 a.m. this year, in case of a heat
wave. Accordingly, despite very comfortable temperatures, the parade kicked off
at 11, as planned. It was, once again, a stellar parade! Of course, you can’t
go by my opinion, as every year’s dog parade, like every year’s Christmas tree,
is always “the best ever” in my eyes. So here, judge for yourself:

Looks like the "best ever" dog parade to me! Such fun costumes.
Interesting to see someone else's photos of the same event. You saw
things I didn't. I think this was the best dog parade ever. Of course, this was only my third. Still, the turnout seemed bigger, the costumes cleverer. Lots of fun and sun.

I like the Wizard of Oz theme. My six little Totos would have liked being in such a parade but I can't decide whether I would have been a good witch or a bad witch!
What fun! I think I saw a SHELTIE! :) And lots of flying monkeys! AND a couple of wicked witches to boot! What a great parade!
Toto in toto indeed.
The theme inspired lots of wonderful costumes, which is always a major consideration in choosing a theme. Marjorie, my camera saw some things I only saw after the fact! Kathy in Oz, you would be a good witch by nature, but sometimes it's fun to costume as someone BAD!
I need to post more pictures! A couple of my favorite Shelties are not on this page!!! (Sorry, Laddie and Nessie -- I will do better by you soon.)
