I love to go to the post
office, love to get mail, and am delighted when anyone takes the time to choose
interesting stamps, so this piece of mail pleased me on first sight. Who could have sent it? I can’t make out
the postmark at all.

Turning it over, I see these words, followed by an initial:

"H.?" Who is "H."? My friend Helen insists she did not send this. So who did? Unfolding the lined paper that served both as letter and envelope, I find inside this poem:

I wish I had thought of it..but no, not me! Lovely poem, though I hope it is not a forecast for your area.
My memory tells me that this piece of mail arrived shortly after our recent big snowstorm--perhaps as a comment on the weather we were having then.
Hmmmmm. I could write all kinds of scenarios around that!
Intrigue and suspense! But will the real "H." please come forward?
How do we solve it..

1. esoteric type/arrangement stamps
2. apparently a typewriter
3. poem with geometric symmetry
4. illegible post mark starts with
metro...
5. signed by H.
....oh, heck, I give up!
Hank? Henry? Herb? Henrietta? I do know a Henrietta but don’t imagine her sending this. Not my friend Hélène in Paris, either, as she’s been gone for several years. Helen said she wasn’t the sender. We have poet friends, but H.????? Can’t think of one whose name begins with H. Last name??? Yes, the typewriter.... But Metro WHERE?
It wasn't me. No H's in this name, except Kat-h-y. I think it's a Secret Admirer. Because of the word "yes" at the end. Of course, there are a lot of "no's" in it as well. Might be in code. Good luck!!
