You Can Only Vote Once

And you can only vote for one candidate in each candidate, but voting ends tomorrow, so don't say you forgot. Gerry reminded me (and voted for herself, so I voted for myself) and I'm reminding you. Go NOW and vote for ME (or someone you love more) as top red-hot blogger (oops, and Dog Ears Books as your favorite bookstore, Gerry reminds me!), and while you’re there vote for your favorite restaurant, favorite cherry pie, ale, salsa, fruit product, wine, whitefish, favorite bartender, barista, local festival, etc., etc., etc. What do you love Up North? (You don't have to give reasons, just make choices.) It’s fun to vote! And what else are you doing until it’s a decent hour for drinking green beer?

This was the late morning sun over Northport on St. Patrick's Day. Kind of weak and puny, do you think? But when I got home, I checked under the silver maple, and finally there they are--the first signs of this spring's daffodils!

YAY!!!!

And you can also vote for your favorite bookstore. I suspect most readers of Books in Northport are in agreement about THAT. Miss Sadie, the Cowboy and I all stepped up and did our duty as denizens of the blogosphere.

I am astonished to discover that I no longer have a favorite bartender. Funny the turns life takes. But even when I was young and giddy I didn't drink green beer.

Now that I am an old bat and still giddy I have a strong preference for local wines. Which you may also vote for. Very cool crocuses, by the way.

The hardest category for me was hairdresser. When was the last time? I liked voting for our bartender at the Happy Hour and soccer coach Marshall Collins and a lot of others.

By the way, you don't have to vote in every category, so if you're in a hurry.... Well, I leave it up to you, as I must, because that's how voting works.

ah well...too late to vote...but if I had, you'd have gotten the vote! :) glad you have daffodil tips...I think I probably do to. Maybe tomorrow I'll find out!

Dawn, I am monitoring my daffodils on a daily basis. It's very cheering to see their green determination manifest through the grubby last remains of winter.

Typos don't count as bad writing, Dawn. You caught it yourself. :)

I voted! (Forgot to tell you that last week.) Couldn't vote in too many categories due to ignorance of the area, but cast my vote as an infrequent visitor.

How lovely to have spring daffodils peeking through your ground. There have been rumors of similar sightings around here, but I haven't seen any.

Happy spring equinox!

Happy equinox to you, too, Kathy. It's only a few scant hours away now....
