Joyeux Noël à Tout le Monde

You'd think with two years of high school French I'd know what this said..."Merry Christmas to all the world?"

If not, well, Merry Christmas to you all anyway! :)

Literally, "to all the world," and thus figuratively, "to everyone." I like it both ways. Wouldn't Kate and Sarah have fun if they could play together in the snow today?

I was going to look up "Disreputable Duo" in the English-French part of the dictionary but then we were distracted by sausages and the next thing you know we were reading a storybook and there went the whole day.

Merry Christmas from all of us.

(P.S. - I recommend Barbara Kingsolver's The Lacuna - haven't finished it yet, but it's engrossing.)

It's been a lovely day here, and I hope the same for you, Dawn and Gerry. Sarah didn't have any dogs to play with, just her old human mom and dad, but we did go out for a walk in the snow with her and threw sticks for her to run after, and she seemed to enjoy that. Off and on today I've been reading about Loreen's lake trek--and, of course, I came upon GERRY and SADIE and the COWBOY! When I got to the U.P. section, David persuaded me to read to him, and we've just crossed over into Wisconsin. The cranberry-orange-walnut relish was delicious, too, alongside roast beef, Yorkshire pudding and gravy and some bright green broccoli.
