Northport, Michigan, Friday, Holiday Weekend

Another Friday farm market this morning was a big item on my to-do list. This week I was smart and brought a cooler.

There were cherries!

There were beautiful lettuces!

There was local honey!

Here's my haul: cherries, strawberries, salad mix, Northport Promise cookies and a decadent, delicious almond croissant to go with my Eat Spot coffee.

Another holiday weekend don't-miss feature is Rolland Charpentier's sale of beautiful ceramic pottery, right across from the Depot (in other words, on your way to or from the farm market and/or marina).

The summer sunshine has arrived, and the weather is absolute perfection. I may need to turn on the fan today at the Painted Horse Gallery/Dog Ears Books building.

Little Northport is full of astonishing things. If we weren't so busy over here just now I would get over there to see the wonderful cooling van. :)

Have a busy weekend yourself, PJ! May you sell many books and enjoy many visits with old friends and new.

I know just what you mean, Gerry. If only we were on vacation, we could travel from one little town to the next, visiting all the bays of Lake Michigan, all the islands, all the inland lakes, all the little shops and galleries, farm markets, parks--sorry!!! I was getting carried away. Time to remind myself I'm lucky to be here on Waukazoo Street for the summer, as indeed I am. (Wish you were here.)

Wonderful! Have a great holiday weekend, and a successful book selling weekend as well! (Those can be concurrent things, right?)

Cherries sound wonderful right now. Especially our Michigan cherries sitting in the roadside stands. Yum!

Hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend.

Hi, Dawn and Kathy. It's been a busy, busy 3rd of July, and I haven't been able to upload my 4th post yet but hope to get that done soon. You all have a good holiday, too! Thanks for stopping in.

It's taken me a day and a half, but I finally figured out Gerry's comment. She was referring to a typo that I later spotted and went back to fix. Fan, not van. Cooling van sounds good, though!
