Yesterday Morning, Quiet and Still

The sun was trying its hardest to burn through the fog.

Lines of young cherry trees looked like caterpillars crawling over the hill.

Crops planted in alternating strips made bands of subtle color in the soft, grey light.

The book on Leelanau portrait artist Gene Petroskey is now available at Dog Ears. Talk about beautiful!

As an art student years ago I learned that if you squint your eyes you'll see patterns and designs that aren't as obvious when your eyes are wide open. Maybe mist and fog create the same effect without the squinting.

Your caterpillar comment is inspired.

How I love these photos! Stunning and so atmospheric.

Thank you both for the appreciative comments. I will have to try the squinting trick to look for patterns. We philosophy students are weak in the ways of artists and need all the hints we can get.
