I enjoyed your lighted trees via your blog and am already looking forward to next Christmas myself, now that I've got the new LED life-time guaranteed, 90%-electricity-saving strings of lights for 2011's tree.

Is your husband a reader? Do you like (some of) the same books? It takes a lot longer to get through a book reading it aloud to each other, but there's something special about the experience.

Is Kate treat-alert? Yes, Sarah IS!!!P. J. I've loved looking out the back windows through the darkened yard at them these past couple of weeks. Something about a tree lit up in the dark woods...

Sounds like a great book! I've been so busy with Christmas entertaining I haven't finished the last good book you sent me! So many books. So little time.

I haven't been read to since I was a kid. Though when I was a teenager I used to read to the rest of my siblings. Sounds lovely.

I have some letters to write too, in response to Christmas cards with news that arrived in the past week. I think I will have to wait till New Year's though. Letters deserve some thought and care. Neither of which I have right now, given the job and the aforementioned entertaining...

And I'm sure Sara can hear extra specially good now that her ears are cleaned up....especially if hearing involves getting treats! :)Dawnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00824027366993286152noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4130421352415377273.post-24241731253927207052010-12-27T15:46:52.870-08:002010-12-27T15:46:52.870-08:00I like the trees in your memory, too, Gerry. I like the pine tree. Our big spruce tree planted a couple of volunteers in the flower bed. I nurtured them along for years, until they were probably 20 feet high. They're gone now, except in my memory, where they're evergreen.Gerryhttp://torchlakeviews.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4130421352415377273.post-23397692596421901052010-12-27T10:07:54.677-08:002010-12-27T10:07:54.677-08:00Hi, Karen. I don't know if you've read: Deep Water Passage by Ann Linnea. It's about her nearly-solo kayak paddle around Lake Superior and the spiritual growth she has because of it. Thought you might enjoy it.
