Northern Michigan College in Traverse City, for example, last I knew, received 1/3 of its funding from local taxes, 1/3 from bequests and donations, and the remaining third only from tuition. (Of course, NMC also saves on faculty salaries by hiring adjunct instructors on a course-by-course basis.) Overall, it seems like good value for their students.P. J.
