I can circle around them warily for months, then pounce.Gerryhttp://torchlakeviews.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4130421352415377273.post-91226594996347198902011-03-08T04:27:49.153-08:002011-03-08T04:27:49.153-08:00If I made it sound like a dust collector, I did Me...If I made it sound like a dust collector, I did Mengestu's novel a great injustice. I saw it at the library, where it called to me from the shelf by the title and author name alone, and when I got it home it jumed to the head of the line ahead of several other books I was reading or planning to read. It's not difficult, nor does it demand a long commitment. The parents' trip story moves slowly in that the author presents only a few moments at a time. Everything proeeds quietly.. But I was enthralled, stilled, grateful for the writing, and it's going on the order list I'm sending to my distributor today.P. J. Such books are easy to put aside in favor of something easier. They gather dust on the bedside table. Then, one day, they simply demand to be read. It's always worth it.Gerryhttp://torchlakeviews.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
