Could not stop after the first hundred pages, though I'm probably supposed to be passing the book on to the next person to read up to page 100. No, no, can't relinquish these characters now!

So glad you are enjoying THE FIELDS--at least, I assume you are, since you want the third volume. That Richter trilogy is high on my list.P. Shoveling is a great workout, whether snow or dirt.

I tend to be put off by family trees at the start of a book. Not to mention 1000+ pps.

For reading: I'm will into The Fields & will stop in for a copy of The Town soon!Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02038437615680439554noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4130421352415377273.post-42104054178191947012010-05-17T09:50:37.488-07:002010-05-17T09:50:37.488-07:00Hi, Deborah. I think the post office calls when the carton arrives so the chicks don't have to sit around too long in the container. Another way to buy chicks is through a local feed store or farm supply store. The advantage to buying locally is that you can buy as few chicks as you want, whereas ordering through the mail there is usually a minimum order.P. J.
