One specialty was getting rid of ink (india, ballpoint pen, magic marker etc) using
common hair spray, ethyl alcohol and water. The secret is the sticky
hair coating pvp- Polyvinylpyrrolidone, as well as the alcohol base.
It may take several serial washings alternating with water. My favorite case was the marketing exec who dumped a bottle of black India on his white carpet (in the Ivory Tower). After a couple of hours the hideous blot was gone. He was so grateful, he asked what he could do for me. "Could you lessen the lying in our brochures?"
(he tried, but honest advertising is an oxymoron in sales marketing)
While visiting my parents, a neighbor lady happened in, distraught that her husband's uniform shirt (he was a bread delivery guy) turned from white pinstripe to tie-dyed blue, having gone through the washer with a ballpoint pen in the pocket. We sprayed the entire
shirt with 'Style Super Hold', let it hang for a couple minutes and
bathed it in alcohol, repeated a couple of times then sent it through the washer. Came out good as new and she baked me a cake!
Since I tend to spill acryic and latex paints on my self, the fact that household vinegar dissolves fresh paint and sofens dried paint to where it can be rubbed off, continues to come in handy. You are
indeed lucky to have a stain remover expert there with you!
BB-Idahohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01388509941702241290noreply@blogger.com
