My Darling, Sweetest Girl

Sarah was adopted from the Cherryland Humane Society in Traverse City, Michigan, in January of 2008, at the age of four months.

Sarah died at 8 p.m., November 17, in her winter home of Dos Cabezas, Arizona, aged 13 years, with her family at her side.

Rest in peace, darling, sweetest girl – you will live in our hearts forever.

I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. Sarah was the perfect bookstore ambassador, travel companion and friend. There are no words of comfort, but I'm so glad that you had each other for 13 years. Love to you and David.

I'm so very sorry to hear this news. What a sweet dog she was.

She was a dog with presence. Plus even at a young age she knew how to pose with her head held high. She could have been a calendar dog. So sorry. Words are not enough, virtual hugs.

Sarah was always an interesting part of your blog to me. Obviously
family-they always are. The pictures of her life sum her time with
you, maybe better than words. Her breed, if I had to guess, was American Literary and I am one of her good friends she never met.
A dog for all seasons, all places and friend. So sorry to hear the news.

Oh Pamela, I was crying before I was even half way through the pictures---I just knew---and hoped I was wrong---what you were going to say. Such a beautiful companion. It is so hard learning to live without right at our sides. Sending quilted hugs to wrap you in.

My....i had no idea. I loved Sarah. Actually, i had many phone conversations with Sarah on her cell phone. She had a remarkable temperament, one suitable to be President of the United States. Its hardly a stretch to think that Sarah could have governed us, with her respect for all souls, her non-judgemental attidute, and her pleasing acceptance of all who approached, far better than he who nominally governs us now.

Please don't think me cavalier or untouched by her passing. That void stings. Time being arguably the healer of all things, gets dished out in varying amounts...some wounds take more than others. I wish you well.

What perfect pictures of a beautiful life.
Sarah was one of a kind. Even though we only met once, at the bookstore, I could sense her tranquil wisdom. The fact that she loved you fiercely was obvious. She only had eyes for you. I will keep you in my prayers.

So sorry to hear about Sarah's passing, Pamela. We will miss her every time we visit the store, or think about you and David.

Stay safe.
